States Making a Difference

Georgia - The State of Georgia saw a need to stop the high rate of disrupted adoptions by getting help for the traumatized children. An amazing woman named Laurie Anderson saw the need and presented it to the powers that be.

The State paid to have 20 therapists attend the year long training to become Attachment Therapists and help the children. They will soon have more Attachment Therapists to solve the problem! Also, the Horizon Institute organized a statewide training for social workers by video satellite. Nancy was honored to be invited to teach for both of these programs. THEY ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN GEORGIA!

Hawaii - The Family Courts of Hawaii closed their doors while the Judges, Deputy Attorneys General, and Social Workers attended a two-day training on Attachment Disorder. These dedicated professionals clearly demonstrated
their commitment to helping the island children that have been wounded by abuse, neglect and separation from caregivers. We were honored to be a part of this event with these GREAT PEOPLE!

Utah - Legislators in Utah are meeting with parents and professionals to learn more about Attachment Disorder and Attachment Therapy. They are considering a law to see that Attachment Therapy is regulated to avoid having improperly trained therapists working with Utah's children. A great idea!

Some of the dedicated Utah State legislators that care a lot about parents' rights are: Senator Parley Hellewell (R ), Senator Chris Buttars (R )and Representative Jim Ferrin (R ). These great folks are leading the way so our children can get the help they need and we get the right to choose!

We hope other states will follow these leaders!
